3D Canvas Modes for Setup Schedule

The Setup Schedule tab has five modes that you can use when interacting with the headings and locations in the 3D Canvas. The name and icon for each mode is displayed in the Modes pane at the far left of the tabs. You change between modes by clicking the mode you want to use.

Orbit Mode

Use Orbit mode to pan and change the orientation of the image in the 3D canvas.

You rotate the view by pressing and holding the left mouse button while moving the pointer on the canvas.

You zoom in and out by pressing and holding the right mouse button and moving the pointer over the canvas. You can also zoom in and out by rolling the mouse wheel, if your mouse has one.

You pan by pressing and holding both mouse buttons and moving the cursor over the canvas. You can also pan by holding down the middle mouse button or wheel, if your mouse has either, and moving the cursor over the canvas.

Note: If you are in Select ,Add , or Change mode and want to rotate, pan, or zoom without cancelling the selection, hold ALT to enable Orbit mode temporarily, and then release ALT when you want to continue your selection.

Select Mode

You use Select mode to select headings or locations in the 3D Canvas.

The selected heading or location is highlighted red in the 3D Canvas. You can select multiple headings and locations by dragging a box over the data, or holding CTRL while clicking the headings and locations.

If you have multiple items selected and want to remove only some of the items, you can hold SHIFT and click a heading or location to remove it from the selection.

If you have started a selection and want to discard all of the items that are selected, you can press ESC or click in a blank area of the 3D Canvas.

Note: If you are in Select mode and want to rotate, pan, or zoom without cancelling the selection, hold ALT to enable Orbit mode temporarily, and then release ALT when you want to continue your selection.

Add Mode

You use Add mode in the Locations tab to add underground locations using GEOVIA Surpac DTM files.

When you click Add the Choose a DTM form appears, which you can use to navigate to and select one or more DTM files that represent the locations.

If your DTMs contain multiple objects and you choose to open more than one DTM, each DTM is imported as one location. To import different objects as different locations, add each DTM separately.

You use Add mode in the Precedences tab to add a precedence graphically between two locations, between two headings, from a heading to a location, or from a location to heading.

Note: If you are in Add mode and want to rotate, pan, or zoom, hold ALT to enable Orbit mode temporarily, and then release ALT when you want to continue adding locations or precedences.

Change Mode

You use Change mode in the Development tab to define a change in the mining rate at a position along the heading graphically.

When Change mode is active, if you move the pointer over a heading, the distance from the start of the heading to the pointer position is displayed.

Note: If you are in Change mode and want to rotate, pan, or zoom before choosing the next position at which the mining rate changes, hold ALT to enable Orbit mode temporarily, and then release ALT when you want to continue selecting rate change positions.
